Selling online is about understanding what people are buying online right now. Trick is, they are buying the same stuff online they have been buying since man existed!
These are: Entertainment, Solutions and Systems Integration.
For this article, I’m going to focus solely on the Entertainment aspect of business.
I’m not just talking about being funny here, there is a lot more to entertaining than just getting a laugh out of your audience. There’s showmanship, creativity, wrapping everything in a pretty bow and much more. Does your business entertain through experience? To answer that question you must first consider your business from a customer’s prospective. How is the customer treated? Do they wait in line for hours or are they amazed at your quick service and responses to their issues?
Selling anything online is about listening and modifying the experience of your customer to that which will lead them both entertained and highly appreciative of your business.
Remember when entertaining that human beings have five senses which you can target during a customer’s business experience with you. Is your office or website pleasing to the eye? if you are in person are you presentable and wearing deoderant today? Are your instructions easy and fun to use? Do you present these instructions with an understanding of how your customer will want to digest the information?
Some great ways to spice up content delivery is with videos, slideshows, audio recordings or even good old fashioned snail mail. You’d be surprised how effective that last one is!
